Job summary

Hyundai America Technical Center, Inc. (HATCI) is seeking an Electrified Powertrain Calibration Engineer for the Electric Vehicle Efficiency (EVE) Team.

The role focuses on efficiency calibration of Hyundai vehicles, testing on-road and in-dyno, data analysis, and benchmarking to improve electrified vehicle energy efficiency. Responsibilities include calibrating powertrains to maximize AER, MPGe, and MPG, performing EPA procedures, and supporting test plans while collaborating with global teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited university
• 5+ years of related experience
• Proficiency with ETAS INCA and CANalyzer
• MATLAB proficiency for data analysis and graphing
• Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record
• Ability to work in a diverse team and in harsh climate conditions

Responsibilities

• Calibrate powertrain to maximize AER, MPGe and MPG.
• Perform testing for fuel economy and coastdown according to EPA procedures.
• Establish targets for EV energy efficiency through testing and analysis.
• Benchmark competitive vehicles and propulsion technologies.
• Analyze data sets and assess trends in energy efficiency.
• Collaborate with lab personnel, calibrators, and automation engineers to ensure test readiness.
• Design and execute vehicle test plans for AER and fuel economy development.
• Simulate vehicle energy flows and losses for presentations.
• Collaborate with the global R&D headquarters team in South Korea.
• Support extended/weekend testing and travel up to 25% domestically and internationally.
