Job summary

Elizabeth River Crossings is seeking an Electrician to maintain and repair electrical systems across the Elizabeth River Tunnels and related facilities. The role involves hands-on troubleshooting, installation, and preventive maintenance of power distribution, lighting, motors, controls, and instrumentation.

Regular hours are 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM with on-call rotations and possible 12-hour shifts during inclement weather or emergencies.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid Journeyman or Master Electrical license required.
• Minimum four years electrical repair and maintenance experience.
• Knowledge of wiring, circuitry, electrical systems, tools, and applicable codes.
• Ability to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain high- and low-voltage systems.
• Strong organization, attention to detail, communication, and coordination skills.
• Ability to manage deadlines and pass background/drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair, install, and maintain electrical systems and equipment.
• Respond to outages, equipment failures, and emergency repair needs to restore safe operation.
• Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, diagnostics, adjustments, and documentation.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, drawings, and technical documents.
• Follow all safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout, and NEC/OSHA/NFPA requirements.
• Complete work orders, document time and materials used, and maintain records.
• Monitor contractor work, support other departments, and assist with special projects.
