Job summary

W-Industries in Memphis, TN is seeking an experienced Electrical Installer to measure, cut, bend and install conduit, fabricate cable trays, and mount control and distribution equipment per drawings and P&ID’s. You will read schematics, wire diagrams, and instrument loops, then test circuits for safety and performance.

This full‑time role offers per diem of $69/day plus lunch, lodging provided, an indoor climate‑controlled environment, and 80‑hour weeks with rotation flexibility.

Qualifications

  • Read and understand P&ID’s, symbols, tags and instrument lines.
  • Read wiring diagrams and process diagrams; understand applicable codes.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and listening skills.
  • Proven problem solver with ability to work under pressure.

Responsibilities

  • Measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble and install electrical conduit per drawings.
  • Install and modify cable trays; mount control and distribution equipment.
  • Read schematics, P&ID symbols, wiring diagrams and instrument loops.
  • Test continuity and safety using ohmmeter, oscilloscope and related tools.

Requirements
  • Measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble and install electrical conduit using such tools as a hacksaw, pipe threading machine and conduit bender.
  • Install, modify and fabricate cable trays accordingly to drawings & P&ID’s.
  • Read and understand Electrical schematics, P&ID’s (symbols, tags and instrument lines), wiring diagrams and instrument loop drawings.
  • Pull wiring through wiring raceways, assisted by helper.
  • Load, transport and unload tools, equipment and supplies.
  • Mount and install grounding leads
  • Test continuity of circuit to ensure electrical compatibility and safety of components using testing instruments such as ohmmeter, battery and buzzer and oscilloscope.
  • Observes functioning of installed equipment or system to determine hazards and need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement.
  • Installs control and distribution apparatus, such as switches, relays and circuit- breaker panels, and fastens in place with screws or bolts using hand or power tools.
  • Assist in lifting, positioning and securing of material and work pieces during installation.
  • Work on electrical systems ranging from 12VCD to 480VAC; electrical meters and diagnostics tools for troubleshooting electrical systems.
  • Perform minor maintenance of cleaning activities of tools and equipment.
  • Follow all company safety procedures including lockout/tag out procedures.
  • Perform other duties as required.
Required Skills
  • Read and understand P&ID’s (symbols, tags and instrument lines), wiring diagrams and instrument loop drawings.
  • Understand how to read and translate the information found within all schematic wiring P&ID’s process diagrams and experience with applicable codes and standards.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and listening skills required.
  • Proven problem solver, results focused, self-motivated.
  • Ability to work at heights.
  • Must be able to work under pressure.
  • Must be able to work individually and on a team.
Required Experience
  • Must have 2 to 3 years of Electrical experience (This is a must)
  • Electrical Certification (Desirable)
  • Forklift/Boom lift Certification (Desirable)

Must be able to perform the essential physical requirements listed below in harsh and/or stressful conditions.

  • Ability to work up to a 12-hour shift in all weather and temperature extremes.
  • Ability to distinguish colors.
