Responsibilities

  • Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production equipment to support objectives.
  • Perform emergency/unscheduled repairs and preventative maintenance.
  • Diagnose problems, replace parts, test, and adjust equipment.
  • Read work orders and manuals to perform required maintenance.
  • Maintain safe, clean, and orderly work areas and follow lock-out/tag-out procedures.

Overall Goal of Position: Installing, troubleshooting, repairing and maintaining safely and efficiently to support Our Purpose and Values

The hours of operation for the 2 nd Shift Electrician is from 4:15pm to 2:45am Monday – Thursday with PM’s on Friday mornings occasionally.

Primary focus is to perform diverse duties such as installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining production equipment in accordance with safety and productive maintenance standards to support achievement of production objectives.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Performs diversified duties to maintain production machinery.

  • Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs maintenance repairs of production equipment.
  • Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines.
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
  • Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.
  • Perform regular preventative maintenance on machines and equipment.
  • Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.
  • Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision.
  • Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
  • Measures, cuts, and bends wire and conduit.
  • Works closely with operations and maintenance personnel to maintain safe operation of manufacturing equipment.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • A minimum of at least 5 years’ experience in industrial/electrical maintenance preferably in food production manufacturing.
  • Able to directly work with and repair electrical systems and electrical system interfaces with plant equipment.
  • Must have a hands‑on understanding of 480v, PLC’s electrical trouble shooting, the ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and blueprints.

While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands or arms, climb or balance, kneel, crouch, and crawl.
