Job summary

Success Education Colleges in West Covina, CA seeks a substitute instructor to plan, teach, and supervise student learning experiences in classroom, skills lab, and clinical areas, following the curriculum approved by the Accreditation Bureau. This is a faculty position reporting to the Campus Director.

The AM schedule is Monday–Thursday, 8 a.m.–1 p.m., and PM schedule is Monday–Thursday, 6 p.m.–11 p.m., with base hours of 20 per week and possible Friday hours as needed.

Qualifications

• 3 years’ experience in the field
• Valid electrician certification or electrical license
• High School Diploma

Responsibilities

• Teaches and implements the total curriculum, as assigned by, and under the direction and supervision of your direct supervisor.
• Plans and assigns student activities in the classroom and/or clinical settings.
• Identifies learning needs of students and tracks progress, attendance and grades.
• Prepares, administers, and grades examinations and practicals.
• Devises lesson plans and delivers them through lecture, demonstration, and discussion.
• Discusses student concerns related to the learning experience.
• Participates in meetings with Program Director or designee.
• Supports students in developing professional values and health care etiquette.
• Assists in the selection and preparation of instructional materials.

POSITION SUMMARY

Plans, teaches, directs, and supervises all student learning experiences in the classroom, skills lab, and clinical areas, following the curriculum of the school approved by the Accreditation Bureau.

This is a faculty position directly reporting to the Campus Director.

DETAILS

AM Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 8 a.m.–1 p.m.

PM Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 6 p.m.–11 p.m.

Base hours: 20 hours per week

Additional hours: Fridays may be requested as needed (e.g., holiday schedule changes, internship site visits)

FUNCTIONS

• Teaches and implements the total curriculum, as assigned by, and under the direction and supervision of your direct supervisor.
• Plans and assigns student activities in the classroom and/or clinical settings.
• Is instrumental in identifying individual and collective learning needs of assigned students, being cognizant of the physical, mental and emotional status of the learners.
• Maintains records of student progress and performance, attendance and grades.
• Prepares, administers, and grades, written and practical examinations during course of study.
• Devises written lesson plans and implements them through lecture, demonstration, discussion, etc.
• Discusses with students their concerns and/or problems directly or indirectly related to learning experience.
• Participates in regularly scheduled meetings with Program Director or her designee.
• Is responsible to assist the student to develop an understanding of values, attitudes, and ideals appropriate to the health care profession.
• Participates in the selection and preparation of instructional materials.
• Provides a professional role model for students.

LAB INSTRUCTION

The instructor will oversee and facilitate laboratory sessions for students in the lab. This role involves providing hands‑on instruction, ensuring safety protocols are followed, and fostering a supportive learning environment that encourages student engagement and inquiry.
