Shaw Industries seeks an Electrical Senior Intermediate (III) to maintain, troubleshoot, and improve electrical systems across assigned manufacturing areas. This role provides advanced electrical support, develops detailed job plans, and mentors lower-level electricians to improve plant performance and technical capability.

The position requires expertise with PLCs, drives, and motor control, strict adherence to safety standards, and the ability to lead proactive maintenance and small projects

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED; Completion of Reliability Electrician II requirements (DOS).
  • Experience with PLC hardware and industrial control systems.
  • Advanced electrical troubleshooting proficiency.
  • Willingness to mentor and develop junior electricians.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain Electrical & Control Systems: perform advanced maintenance on MCCs, motors, inverters, converters, reactors, and power distribution components.
  • Troubleshoot & Execute Repairs: diagnose and fix complex issues impacting safety, quality, or productivity; provide root-cause findings to leadership.
  • Perform Proactive Maintenance: lead PM and CM activities; execute inspections, measurements, and adjustments per specs.
  • Support Projects & Process Improvements: carry out work orders for reliability improvements, production and quality enhancements, and equipment upgrades.
  • Mentor & Support Electrical Team: coach Reliability Electrician II and assist higher-level team members with installations and upgrades.

Electrician Senior Intermediate (III)

Position Overview

The Reliability Electrician III maintains, troubleshoots, and improves electrical systems and production equipment to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and cost efficiency across assigned manufacturing areas. This role provides advanced electrical support, develops detailed job plans, and mentors lower‑level electricians to improve overall plant performance and technical capability.

Position Duties & Tasks
  • 1. Maintain Electrical & Control Systems
    • Provide advanced maintenance on process and support equipment including:
    • MCCs, motors, inverters, Converters, Reactors, and power distribution components
    • PLCs, robotics, drives, and associated automation systems
  • 2. Troubleshoot & Execute Repairs
    • Identify , diagnose, and repair complex issues impacting safety, quality, or productivity:
    • Distinguish between mechanical, electrical, process, and product‑related issues
    • Provide detailed findings and root‑cause information to operations and maintenance leadership
    • Recommend and verify necessary updates to electrical schematics and documentation
  • 3. Perform Proactive Maintenance
    • Lead and execute PM and CM activities:
    • Preventive Maintenance: Perform inspections, measurements, and adjustments according to specifications and schedules.
    • Condition Maintenance: Repair/replace components based on PM or PdM results. Develop detailed job plans and request updates to schematics as required.
  • 4. Support Projects & Process Improvements
    • Execute assigned work orders to support:
    • Reliability improvements
    • Production and quality enhancements
    • Equipment installation and upgrades
  • Tasks include installation or replacement of:
    • Motors
    • Drives
    • Line Reactors
    • Filters
    • Induction Chokes
    • Starters
    • Control systems
    • PLC hardware
    • Facility electrical systems
  • 5. Mentor & Support Electrical Team
    • Coach and support Reliability Electrician II employees as they develop required skills
    • Assist Reliability Electrician IV‑V team members with advanced installations and upgrades

    • 3 -4 years of electrical experience in manufacturing
    • Industrial electrical certification or technical school coursework
    • Advanced training in PLCs, VFDs, robotics, or automation
    Work Shift

    12 Hr rotating shift, Hrs fall to in punch day, Act Calendar, shift starts PM, days change only
