Job summary

Metris Global is seeking an Electrician’s Mate Instructor in Yorktown, VA. Reporting to the Location Site Lead, this role involves delivering instruction on electrical systems for both shipboard and shore-based applications in a structured classroom setting.

The position requires strong classroom instructional skills, substantial field experience or a journeyman certification, and adherence to safety and quality standards while coordinating with government and contract teams.

Qualifications

• Must possess a minimum of three years’ experience as a primary classroom instructor.
• Seven (7) years field experience or a journeyman certification as an electrician, preferably experienced with Navy/Coast Guard shipboard electrical systems.
• Must possess subject matter knowledge and expertise in one or more areas: AC/DC circuit theory; AC/DC generators and motors theory; electronic circuit theory; Boolean algebra; installation, maintenance, and repair of shipboard and shore power distribution and distribution systems; shipboard navigation systems; signal lights; interior communications systems; and small boat electrical systems.
• No security clearance required.

Responsibilities

• Instruction on electrical systems and electrical systems theory across shipboard and shore-based systems.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Maintain safe, effective classroom environments and ensure compliance with course curriculum and standards.
