Job summary

Foster Farms in California is seeking a Plant Electrician to join our maintenance team. You will troubleshoot, repair and perform preventative maintenance on electrical systems in our chicken processing plant, following the electrician training manual.

You will read blueprints or schematics to install or repair equipment, work rotating shifts and weekends, lift 50 pounds, pass a background check, and communicate effectively in English.

Qualifications

• Minimum three years' experience as a Plant Electrician or scale technician in a production environment.
• Knowledge of A/C variable frequency drives and programmable logic controllers.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Strong written and spoken English skills.
• Must pass electrical test to determine skill level.
• Able to lift 50 pounds and work from a ladder.
• Able to work rotating shifts and weekends.
• Must pass criminal background check.

Essential Functions

Pay Range: $27.25 to $41.75 per hour (based on experience).

(Additional $1.00 per hour for hours worked between 7:00pm and 11:59pm. Additional $2.00 per hour for hours worked between 12:00am-4:59am).

• Troubleshoot, repair and perform preventative maintenance on all electrical equipment throughout the chicken plant as described in the electrician training book.
• Work from blueprints or schematics to perform maintenance, repair or install equipment.
• General cleaning and/or other crews if required and to maintain safety, housekeeping and sanitation and disease control requirements while performing job duties.

Qualifications

• Must have a minimum of three (3) years' experience as a Plant Electrician or scale technician, in a production environment is preferred.
• Must have knowledge of A/C variable frequency drives and programmable logic controllers.
• Must be able to work with minimal supervision
• Must have good English written and verbal communication skills
• An electrical test will be administered and utilized to determine the skill level
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds
• Must be able to work from a ladder
• Must be able to work rotating shifts and weekends.
• Must be able to submit and pass a criminal background check.
