Job summary

Sundt Inc. is seeking an electrician to plan, lay out, install and repair wiring, fixtures, motors and control systems on industrial/construction sites. You will read drawings, follow specs, and work across related trades under supervision while ensuring safety and licensing where required.

The role emphasizes quality workmanship, adherence to codes, and continuous learning. The team operates in a fast-paced environment with focus on skilled craftsmanship and employee ownership values.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3–6 years in industrial/construction electrician roles.
  • Ability to read drawings, specs, safety and quality standards.
  • Effective verbal and written communication required.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, lay out, install, test and repair wiring and control systems per plans and specs.
  • Work across crafts as directed by supervision and maintain licensing where required.
  • Maintain relationships with crew and produce high-quality work safely.
  • Provide materials, tools and information for the work as needed.
  • Seek opportunities to improve tasks and share knowledge with others.
  • Show high proficiency in trade mathematics relevant to work.
  • Inspect subordinates’ work and address deficiencies per specs.
  • Eliminate waste: waiting, rework, transport, storage, and time.
  • Lift and carry heavy items up to 50 pounds.

Job Summary

Plan, lay-out, install, test and repair wiring, electrical fixtures, apparatus, motors, equipment and control systems in accordance with all applicable plans, specifications, codes and industry standards. Work in other crafts at levels appropriate to training and skills as requested by project supervision. Should have all necessary licenses for the jurisdiction in which the work is to be performed.

  7. Inspect subordinates work, ensure accuracy and compliance with plans and specifications, explain deficiencies and take any necessary corrective action.
  8. Eliminate WASTE such as waiting, rework, transporting, material storage and time.
  9. Lift and carry heavy items up to 50 pounds.
Minimum Job Requirements
  1. Must have a minimum of three years (level I), four years (level II), five years (level III) and six plus years (level Sr.) experience in the industrial/commercial construction industry and have an in-depth understanding of the electrician trade.
  2. Must be able to read and understand drawings, specifications, safety and quality standards and effectively utilize all trade tools and equipment relevant to the work.
  3. Possess effective verbal and written communication skills.

Physical Requirements
  1. Work up to a 12 hour shift doing hard physical work in varying temperatures and outside conditions.
  2. Will climb and maintain balance on steel/wood framework, stairs, ladders and scaffolds.
  3. Will lift, push or pull objects up to 50lbs. on an occasional basis
  4. Required to use hands to grasp, lift, handle, carry or feel objects on a frequent basis
  5. Must be able to comply with all safety standards and procedures
  6. May reach above shoulder heights and below the waist on a frequent basis
  7. May stoop, kneel, or bend, on an occasional basis
  8. Ability to wear personal protective equipment is required (including but not limited to; steel toed shoes, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, hardhat, vest, etc.)
  9. Move in and around confined, cluttered and uneven areas.
  10. May use telephone, computer system, email, or other electronic devices on a limited basis to communicate with internal and external customers or vendors
