Job summary

Newport News Shipbuilding, a division of Huntington Ingalls Industries, seeks an experienced electrical technician to repair, install, and maintain routine electrical systems and equipment across industrial production lines.

You will modify, align, calibrate, design, and test control systems, inspect circuits for safety, and ensure efficiency of complex infrastructure. On-site work requires high attention to safety and teamwork in a demanding shipyard environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent and 5 years additional education and/or related experience.
• Apprentice graduate/ Associate's Degree in relevant discipline and 3 years of related experience. Certification may be required.

Responsibilities

• Repairs, constructs, installs, troubleshoots, and maintains routine electrical systems and equipment.
• Modifies, aligns, calibrates, designs, programs, installs, tests, troubleshoots and maintains routine electrical systems and equipment including control systems and production equipment.
• Cuts, threads, bends, couples, and straps conduit as required.
• Troubleshoots electrical malfunctions, inspects circuits and wiring for shielding and grounding, and tests electrical equipment for safety and efficiency.
