Job Details: Position: Electrician Maintenance, EC01 to EC08 Base Pay: $22.90 to $32.75 base pay based on experience Shift: 1st Shift Location: River Valley Ingredients in Cuthbert, GA

JOB SUMMARY

The Electrician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and upgrading electrical systems, equipment, controls, motors, and production machinery to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation. This position supports plant operations by performing preventive maintenance, responding to production needs, and ensuring compliance with all Tyson Foods safety, quality, environmental, and regulatory requirements. The Team Member must maintain a safe work environment, follow Tyson policies and procedures, and demonstrate a willingness to learn the skills required to support maintenance operations. This role helps maintain a safe, efficient, and reliable work environment by following Tyson's safety culture, completing assigned electrical tasks, and responding to operational needs as directed by supervision. The position requires strong troubleshooting skills, electrical knowledge, effective communication, and the ability to work in a manufacturing environment that may include physical demands, varying temperatures, and exposure to industrial conditions, while maintaining quality, safety, food safety, sanitation, and company policy standards.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical systems and equipment throughout the facility.
  • Diagnose and repair motors, motor controls, drives, relays, contactors, transformers, panels, and electrical distribution systems.
  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on production equipment and facility electrical systems.
  • Troubleshoot and repair PLC‑controlled equipment and automated systems.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, technical manuals, and wiring diagrams.
  • Install conduit, wiring, panels, disconnects, and electrical components in accordance with applicable codes and Tyson standards.
  • Test electrical equipment using appropriate meters, diagnostic tools, and instrumentation.
  • Respond to equipment breakdowns and production downtime situations in a timely manner.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, reliability, efficiency, and cost reduction.
  • Complete work orders, maintenance records, and documentation accurately and timely.
  • Follow Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and all safety requirements.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Assist other maintenance team members as needed.
  • Participate in training and skill development activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervision.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, squat, climb ladders, and work in elevated areas for extended periods.
  • Ability to work in varying temperatures, including hot, cold, wet, humid, and dusty conditions.
  • Ability to safely operate tools, testing equipment, lifts, and maintenance equipment.
  • Ability to work around moving machinery and energized equipment while following established safety procedures.
  • Willingness to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and call‑in schedules as required.
  • Must be able to read and understand assignments, communicate both orally and in writing, and perform other duties as assigned by supervision.
EXTERNAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum one (1) year of industrial electrical maintenance experience or equivalent technical training.
  • Working knowledge of electrical systems, motor controls, and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to successfully complete Tyson Foods electrical assessments and required training.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Technical degree or certification in Industrial Maintenance, Electrical Technology, Electronics, or related field.
  • Experience working in a food manufacturing or processing environment.
  • Experience troubleshooting PLCs, VFDs, HMI systems, and automated production equipment.
  • Knowledge of National Electrical Code (NEC).
  • Electrical license, journeyman certification, or equivalent credentials.
  • Experience with preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
