Job summary

NIKA is hiring an Electrician to support our mission at the USCG Base in Kodiak, AK. This role operates fully onsite with relocation assistance possible for the right candidate.

The electrician will perform repair, testing, and maintenance of diverse electrical systems, including fire doors and security alarm systems, while ensuring safety and compliance with union requirements. NIKA offers competitive benefits and an emphasis on work-life balance.

Qualifications

• Must hold a Journeyman Electrician License.
• Must have a high school diploma or equivalency.
• Completed certified apprenticeship program preferred.
• 1-2 years of experience in electronic repair and maintenance of fire doors and security alarm systems.
• Ability to pass a background and drug screening.
• Must remain in good stand with the local Teamster 959 Union.

Responsibilities

• Performs repair, overhaul, maintenance, and servicing electrical/electronic systems, locating and diagnosing trouble.
• Testing, installation, repair, and maintenance of generators, ATS, UPS, transformers, switchboards, controllers, door operators, circuit breakers, motors, heating units, conduit systems, IR scans or other transmission equipment.
• Performs fire alarm system and nurse call systems testing and maintenance.
• Maintains cleanliness and appearance of assigned spaces and workshop.
• Assist maintenance teams.
• Identify and resolve failures/alarms related to critical building equipment.
