Summary (Overview of the job)
The electrician general foreman manages the labor, materials, and production of one or more projects. The foreman provides technical expertise in installing and troubleshooting electrical wiring and equipment. Other duties and travel may be required. This job description does not limit management’s ability to assign additional tasks.
Tasks (Day-to-day work activities)
- Examine and inspect work progress, equipment, and construction sites to verify safety and ensure specifications are met.
- Read specifications such as blueprints to determine construction requirements and plan procedures.
- Estimate and order materials and evaluate worker requirements to complete jobs.
- Supervise, coordinate, and schedule the activities of workers.
- Confer with managerial and technical personnel, other departments, and contractors to resolve problems and coordinate activities.
- Record information such as personnel, production, and operational data on specified forms and reports.
- Assign work to employees based on material and worker requirements of specific jobs.
- Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools.
- Diagnose and inspect systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools.
- Advise management on whether the continued operation of equipment could be hazardous.
- Maintain current electrician's license or identification card to meet governmental regulations.
- Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, based on job specifications and local codes.
- Prepare sketches or follow blueprints to determine wiring and equipment locations, ensuring conformance to building and safety codes.
- Work scheduled hours include overtime and weekends. Respond to and work when requested by management. Arrive on time and leave at the end of the shift.
- Follow safety rules and notify supervision or others when a safety hazard is observed.

Education & Experience
- Texas Journeyman Electrician License
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a foreman or supervisory role
- Experience in Healthcare and Life Science Sector
