The Idaho Army National Guard, Construction and Facilities Management Office, is seeking a qualified electrical supervisor to oversee contractor work at OCTC Gowen Field. The role involves maintenance and minor construction within the electrical trades, including oversight of apprentices and journeymen.

SUMMARY: This position is assigned to the Construction and Facilities Management Office (CFMO), Idaho Army National Guard (IDARNG); duty location is the Orchard Combat Training Center (OCTC), Gowen Field (off Main Base). The primary purpose of this position is to oversee electrical contractors’ work, non-journeyman apprentice and journeyman electrical work, and to provide electrical maintenance and minor construction services in the electrical trades.

MILITARY DIVISION MANDATORY QUESTIONS:

(1) Except for minor traffic offenses, have you ever entered a plea of guilty, no contest, or had a withheld judgment to a felony offense? If YES, please explain on a separate paper and attach it to your application.

(2) Do you certify that I am a U.S. citizen, permanent resident or a Foreign National with authorization to work in the United States?

MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS:

(1) Must have and maintain a valid and fully privileged state issued driver’s license (from any state). Provide your driver’s license number, issuing state, license expiration date, and the full name specified on the license. (Do not provide a copy of your driver’s license.)

(2) Must have, or be eligible to obtain, and maintain a favorable NACI/T1 Federal Background Investigation. If a selected candidate does not have a current favorable NACI/T1, as a condition of employment he/she must submit to the investigation process immediately upon hire/appointment.

(3) Must have and maintain a current Idaho Journeyman Electrician license. (Attach a copy of current license to your application.)

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:Must have24-monthsof experience performing work related to the knowledge requirements below.Submit a paragraph for each knowledge requirement that demonstrates the required experience and describes competence in applying the knowledge.Education and training may be used to offset experience.

(1) Describe your knowledge of purchasing and contracting methods. Explain past duties you have performed in supervising contracts.

(2) Describe yourskill in commercial, industrial and residential electrical wiring techniques.

(3) Describe yourability in trouble shooting fire alarms, security alarms, information technology data systems, and control systems.

(4) Describe yourskill and ability of reading and interpreting contract and construction documents.

(5) Describe yourskill in ordering repair parts and equipment in your work experience.

(6) Describe yourability supervising individuals in the electrical field or other trades. Include levels of supervisory positions held, how many journeyman level technicians and apprentices you have overseen, and what types of work you supervised.
