CA Department of Corrections & Rehabilitation is seeking an Electrician III (Correctional Facility) at Richard J. Donovan Correctional Facility in San Diego County.
The role covers maintenance and repair of electrical systems outside the secure perimeter, with potential reassignment to other electrical tasks as needed. The position is a 12-month limited term, full-time assignment with a 07:30–15:30 shift, in-office work, and standard Monday–Friday weeks.

Under the direction of the Supervisor of Building Trades, staff will have the primary responsibility for the maintenance and repair of the institution’s electrical systems and all areas outside the secure perimeter. Due to institutional need staff may be redirected to maintain or repair other electrical systems throughout the institution.

Richard J. Donovan Correctional Facility (RJDCF) is a multi-mission institution: RJDCF’s primary mission is to provide housing for General Population and SNY, Level I, II, III & IV incarcerated people serving their term of incarceration at RJDCF. Additionally, we provide health care services and rehabilitative programs to incarcerated people while incarcerated at RJDCF. RJDCF is a designated institution for incarcerated people with severe mental illness, incarcerated people with developmental disabilities and is responsible for providing officer coverage for incarcerated people being treated in community hospitals throughout San Diego County.
