An established industry player is seeking a skilled Electrician to maintain and troubleshoot electrical systems on drilling rigs. Summary:
Maintains operational integrity, maintenance (preventive maintenance), installation/removal of electrical equipment, repair and documentation of electrical systems, performs diagnostic tests and troubleshoots system faults and failures of all electrical equipment on drilling rig. Ensures electrical systems are within safety and regulatory body compliance standards and all electrical equipment remains operative throughout the operations.

Education and/or Experience: Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; and three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have basic knowledge of Microsoft Office. Needs experience in computer programming.

Other Skills and Abilities: Strong written and oral communication skills. Strong leadership skills. Ability to multi-task and prioritize work effectively.
Other Qualifications: Experience with SCR, VFD and PLC is required. Must have the ability to connect own computer to the rig hard drives and read their programs when having control issues with the rig. Must have the ability to download the programs from malfunctioning hard drives and install them into new hard drives to get the equipment functioning again. Experience with IEC control systems and Comverteam drives is a plus.
