Job summary

Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) is seeking an Electrician II - Water Shop for on-site work in Livermore, CA. The role covers installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems for power distribution, lighting, and research equipment.

Some work may occur at Site 300 in Tracy, CA, with a full-time on-site requirement. You will lay out wiring, test and troubleshoot systems, follow safety protocols, document maintenance actions, and provide customer service to project teams.

Qualifications

U.S. citizenship and ability to secure DOE Q clearance.
High School diploma or equivalent; completion of related apprentice training or journey-level experience.
Valid California General Electrician License and CA Class C Driver’s License.
Proficiency with trade tools, conduit layout, and electrical installations.
Experience with motor controls, VFDs, and reading electrical diagrams.

Responsibilities

Lay out and install electrical devices, power distribution equipment, and wiring per codes and LLNL safety practices.
Test, troubleshoot, and repair systems using electrical test equipment and print readings.
Follow safety procedures including LOTO and PPE usage; participate in work planning.
Document preventive maintenance results and report hazards and code compliance.
Analyze data and prepare reports for projects, work orders, and maintenance records.
Provide timely customer service to clients and team members.
Complete preventive maintenance requests, deficiency reports, and work orders.
Perform other duties as assigned.
