Job summary

UTHealth Houston is seeking an Electrician II to perform skilled journey-level electrical work across its facilities. You will install, maintain, and repair systems up to 4160 volts, interpret blueprints, and supervise other staff while ensuring safety and compliance.

This essential position requires availability during normal business hours and emergencies to support critical operations at UTHealth Houston. A Texas Journeyman license and valid driver’s license are required.

Qualifications

• Must have effective communication skills.
• Driver License by State of Texas required.
• Journeyman Electrician license (TDLR) required.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems up to 4160 volts.
• Supervise other staff and ensure safety and workmanship standards.
• Interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams and plans; coordinate activities.
• Inspect completed work and prepare reports/estimates.
• Respond to emergencies as essential personnel to sustain critical operations.
