Job summary

California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation is seeking an Electrician II (CF) at Centinela State Prison in Imperial, CA to maintain and repair electrical distribution and building power systems. Responsibilities include installation, repair of motors, lighting, generators, transformers, and other electrical equipment, with emphasis on safety and security in a correctional facility.

The position is a 12-month Limited Term (may extend to 24 months) with potential for permanency.

Qualifications

• Maintenance and repair of high, medium, and low voltage electrical distribution.
• Maintenance, repair and installation of motors, heaters, lighting, generators, transformers, and related electrical devices.
• Read and follow plans, drawings and specifications; interpret electrical codes and safety orders.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair facility electrical distribution and lighting systems.
• Inspect and ensure safety of electrical installations and equipment for inmates and staff.
• Supervise work area safety and secure working conditions during maintenance tasks.
