Job summary

Augusta University is seeking an Electrician 1 to inspect, repair, install, and maintain electrical systems and equipment on a full-time basis. The role requires an Electrician License and a high school diploma, with supervision as needed.

Responsibilities include routine repairs, testing circuits, installing components, and assisting senior electricians on larger projects while ensuring compliance with the National Electrical Code.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED plus at least one year of experience.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Experience in installation, repair, and operation of a wide array of common electrical and lighting system components.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine repairs on electrical and lighting system components.
• Test circuits and equipment using appropriate testing instruments.
• Replace faulty switches, outlets, wiring, and common 120V electrical system components.
• Install basic electrical system components including switches, light fixtures, receptacles, fans, circuit breakers, and associated wiring.
• Assist higher‑level electricians on larger and more complex repair and installation projects involving service panels, feeders, branch circuits, and specialized electrical systems such as lighting controls, generators, emergency and standby power systems, fire alarms, and motor controls.
• Ensure all work is performed in accordance with the latest version of the National Electrical Code.
• May be required to serve on-call and remain work‑ready during scheduled on-call periods or rotations.
• Perform any other duties/tasks as required.
