Job summary

Mohawk Industries is seeking a Maintenance Technician to support our Dalton, GA facility. The role involves general facility maintenance and maintaining tufting equipment, basic welding, and building/grounds work. You will install and remove electrical and electronic equipment, size conduits, and troubleshoot mechanical systems.

The ideal candidate has mechanical aptitude, basic troubleshooting skills, and a valid PIT license. Ability to work at heights and lift up to 50 lbs is required.

Qualifications

• Mechanical aptitude and ability to read basic schematics or manuals.
• Basic troubleshooting knowledge for mechanical systems.
• Understanding of basic mechanical operation of machines.
• Basic knowledge of tool types and uses.
• Reading, writing and math skills are required.
• Excellent attendance and reliability are essential.
• PIT license or PIT certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform general facility maintenance.
• Maintain tufting related equipment.
• Carry out basic welding tasks.
• Perform building and grounds work.
• Thread and pipe airlines as needed.
• Install and remove electrical and electronic equipment.

What You’ll Do

• General facility maintenance
• Maintain all tufting related equipment’s
• Basic Welding
• Building and grounds work
• Treading pipe for airlines
• Installation and removal of all electrical and electronic equipment.
• Select proper equipment size, wire and conduit sizes, breaker sizes and fuse sizes from appropriate catalogs.
• Ability to install all types of conduits
• Ability to troubleshoot, repair/replace mechanical equipment
• Operate various powered industrial trucks when needed

What You Have

• Ability to move and lift up to 50lbs several times during the shift
• Mechanical aptitude, basic troubleshooting knowledge
• Understanding of basic mechanical operation of machines
• Basic knowledge of tool types and uses
• Reading, writing and math skills
• Work at heights of up to 25 feet
• Excellent attendance
• Electronic components, PLC application experience preferred.
• Must have valid PIT license or complete PIT certification.
