Job summary

Mohawk Industries in Dalton, Georgia, is seeking a maintenance technician to perform general facility upkeep and keep tufting equipment running. The role includes welding, electrical installations, conduit work, and basic troubleshooting, with forklift operation as needed.

Candidates should be capable of lifting 50 lbs, working at heights, and reading technical material. A valid PIT license or PIT certification is required or to be completed prior to employment.

Qualifications

• Lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly during shifts.
• Mechanical aptitude and basic troubleshooting.
• Understanding of basic mechanical operation of machines.
• Knowledge of tool types and uses.
• Reading, writing and math skills.
• Work at heights up to 25 ft.
• Electrical/PLC experience preferred.
• Must have valid PIT license or PIT certification.

What you’ll do:

• General facility maintenance
• Maintain all tufting related equipment’s
• Basic Welding
• Building and grounds work
• Treading pipe for airlines
• Installation and removal of all electrical and electronic equipment.
• Select proper equipment size, wire and conduit sizes, breaker sizes and fuse sizes from appropriate catalogs.
• Ability to install all types of conduits
• Ability to troubleshoot, repair/replace mechanical equipment
• Operate various powered industrial trucks when needed

What you have:

• Ability to move and lift up to 50lbs several times during the shift
• Mechanical aptitude, basic troubleshooting knowledge
• Understanding of basic mechanical operation of machines
• Basic knowledge of tool types and uses
• Reading, writing and math skills
• Work at heights of up to 25 feet
• Electronic components, PLC application experience preferred.
• Must have valid PIT license or complete PIT certification.
