Job summary

Amentum is seeking an Electrician-High Voltage to join our Springfield, VA team supporting a government customer. This role requires a U.S. citizen with a Top Secret clearance and hands-on experience with medium voltage systems.

You will install, maintain, and repair high voltage electrical equipment, read blueprints, diagnose faults, and ensure compliance with NEC and safety standards. A commitment to safety and the ability to lift up to 45 lbs are essential.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, or repair electrical equipment for generation, distribution, or use of electric energy.
• Install or repair generators, transformers, switchboards, controllers, circuit breakers, motors, or conduit systems.
• Work from blueprints, drawings, layouts, or specs to guide installations.
• Locate and diagnose trouble in electrical systems or equipment.
• Compute load requirements for wiring and equipment.
• Use a variety of electrician's hand tools and testing instruments.

Job description

Amentum is seeking an Electrician-High Voltage join our team in Springfield, VA and support our government customer.

Must be a U.S. Citizen and maintain a Top Secret security clearance.

Responsibilities include the following:

A High Voltage Electrician performs a variety of electrical trade functions such as the installation, maintenance, or repair of equipment for the generation, distribution, or utilization of electric energy. Work involves most of the following: installing or repairing any of a variety of electrical equipment such as generators, transformers, switchboards, controllers, circuit breakers, motors, heating units, conduit systems, or other transmission equipment; working from blueprints, drawings, layouts, or other specifications, locating and diagnosing trouble in the electrical system or equipment, working standard computations relating to load requirements of wiring or electrical equipment, and using a variety of electrician's hand tools and measuring and testing instruments

Experience and Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Formal or informal education or training which ensures the ability to read and write at a

level necessary for successful job performance.

• Medium voltage experience.
• Familiarity with electrical controls systems
• Familiarity with NEC
• Ability to lift up to 45 lbs.
• Computer Skills: Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.)
• NETA III Certification or, NICET II Electrical Power Testing or Virginia Electrical
• Journeyman’s license/certificate.
• NICET I Electrical Power Testing preferred.
• Electrical Journeyman’s license/certificate or 10 yrs. Experience in commercial/industrial

setting.

• Master Electrician’s license preferred.
• OSHA 30 Card preferred
• NFPA 70E Certification preferred.
