Position Summary

Plan, layout, install, test, and repair wiring, electrical fixtures, apparatus, motors, equipment, and control systems in accordance with all applicable plans, specifications, codes, and industry standards.

Primary Responsibilities and Duties

• Interpret drawings, sketches, software, and plans; determine the best work procedures, tools, and equipment needed to troubleshoot and repair problems.
• Measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble, and install electrical conduit; weld supports; install cable and duct banks; make terminations.
• Install control and distribution apparatus and secure in place.
• Test and start up systems; check circuit continuity to ensure electrical compatibility and safety of components.
• Observe functioning of installed equipment or systems to identify hazards and determine the need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement.
• Pull wire through conduit; connect wiring to lighting fixtures and power equipment.
• Work with high and low voltage systems.
• Disassemble and repair defective electrical equipment or systems.
• Operate electrical and mechanical hand tools, power tools, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical tools.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred, with relevant experience in the field or related area.
• Working knowledge of skills and abilities required for the position.
• Ability to understand, follow, and transmit written and oral instructions; communicate effectively with management and supervision.
• Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and layout tools safely and efficiently.

Requirements

• Able to meet all physical requirements.
• Must own all required tools.
• Capable of climbing and working at heights and in confined spaces (may exceed 200 ft).
• Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Willing to work overtime, nights, and weekends as workload demands.
• Observe and comply with all safety and project rules. Perform other duties as required.
