Jefferson is seeking a skilled Journeyman Electrician to install, inspect, and repair electrical equipment and systems in buildings. Responsibilities include maintaining power, lighting, and control systems while coordinating with other trades and following safety standards.

The role requires knowledge of electrical codes, switchgear, transformers, and preventive maintenance for critical facilities. On-site work at a major medical campus is expected with standard day shifts.

Formación

• Journeyman Electrician or equivalent certification.
• Strong knowledge of electrical safety and lockout/tagout standards.
• High school diploma or trade/vocational training with hands-on electrical experience.

Responsabilidades

• Install, inspect, and repair electrical equipment and systems in buildings.
• Maintain power, lighting, communications, and control systems for safe operation.
• Inspect transformers, circuit breakers and troubleshoot electrical issues with testing devices.
• Coordinate wiring and electrical construction per blueprints and codes.
• Perform preventive maintenance on fire alarm systems, generators, and safety plans.
• Work from blueprints and diagrams to ensure accurate completion.

Job Details Responsible for the installation, inspection and repair of electrical equipment and systems in buildings, both existing and under construction, to ensure the safe and optimal operation of power, lighting, communications and control systems. Tends to operation and maintenance of systems including but not limited to substations, distribution systems and generators. Possesses working knowledge of other trades in order to coordinate work projects.

Job Description

• 1. Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson


• 2. Installs, maintains, and repairs electrical control, wiring, and lighting systems.


• 3. Inspects transformers and circuit breakers and other electrical components. Troubleshoots electrical issues using appropriate of testing devices.


• 4. Installs and maintains wiring in accordance with rules and regulations, and ensures that buildings have enough power to operate safely.


• 5. Performs electrical construction such as installing circuit breaker panel boards, circuit breakers, conduit, cable, motor starters, switches, lights, etc.


• 7. Performs electrical preventive maintenance work and planning (fire alarm system, emergency and standby generators, electrical safety checking, written plans, lockout and system switching, etc.) to ensure safety and remain in compliance with regulations.


• 8. Works from blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, etc. to make sure jobs are accurately completed.


• 9. Performs other maintenance duties as needed and assigned by the supervisor or lead.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (Proficiencies)

Journeyman Electrician (or equivalent). Understanding of electrical safety and lockout/tagout standards.

Required Experience, Education, Certification(s), License(s)

High School Diploma. Trade/Vocational School completion or three years’ experience in industrial and/or institutional systems with working knowledge of hospital electrical and safety codes.
