Job summary

Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. in Baton Rouge, LA, invites applications for an Electrician responsible for the safe operation and maintenance of critical electrical systems at municipal wastewater facilities.

You will perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on low and medium voltage equipment, read electrical drawings, and support multi-discipline teams to keep facilities running safely and efficiently. A valid driver’s license and willingness to travel are required.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of related commercial and/or industrial electrical maintenance experience.
• Varied electrical and mechanical experience.
• Proven understanding of electrical system components and theory.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical, electrical, and equipment drawings.

Responsibilities

• Perform safe, time-critical maintenance and repair of mission-essential electrical systems.
• Maintain and troubleshoot low voltage and medium voltage systems (VFDs, motors, generators, UPS, panels).
• Conduct preventive maintenance to ensure equipment reliability.
• Ensure safety, health, and environmental compliance in all work activities.
• Travel by motor vehicle to client sites and project locations; valid driver's license required.

As an Electricianbased in Baton Rouge, LA (South Plant), you'll support the municipal wastewater industry by ensuring the safe, uninterrupted operation of mission‑essential electrical systems. You’ll work alongside multi‑discipline technical teams to maintain and repair critical electrical equipment, keeping facilities running efficiently and safely.

• Perform safe, time‑critical maintenance, and repair of mission‑essential electrical systems.
• Maintain and troubleshoot low voltage and medium voltage systems such as:
  • Variable Frequency Drives (VFD);
  • Equipment motors;
  • Emergency generators;
  • Uninterrupted Power Supply (UPS);
  • Panel boards, branch panels, motor control centers; and
  • Related facilities equipment.
• Conduct preventive maintenance to ensure equipment reliability.
• Ensure safety, health, and environmental compliance in all work activities
• As an essential function of the position and as a business necessity, this role requires regular travel by motor vehicle to client sites, project locations, and other work‑related destinations in connection with the performance of assigned duties and responsibilities. Accordingly, a valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record are required for this position.

The base salary range for this position is $50,000.00 to $64,400.00; though will be paid hourly based on hours worked. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job‑related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
