Jacobs in Baton Rouge, LA seeks an Electrician to support municipal wastewater electrical systems. You will maintain critical equipment, troubleshoot LV/MV systems, and ensure safety and compliance in a challenging operations setting.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years of related experience, a trade-school diploma or equivalent, and the ability to read drawings, interpret schematics, and work with VFDs, generators, UPS, and panel boards. On-site role with travel as required.

As an Electrician based in Baton Rouge, LA (South Plant), you'll support the municipal wastewater industry by ensuring the safe, uninterrupted operation of mission-essential electrical systems. You'll work alongside multi-disciplinary technical teams to maintain and repair critical electrical equipment, keeping facilities running efficiently and safely.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Perform safe, time-critical maintenance, and repair of mission-essential electrical systems.
• Maintain and troubleshoot low voltage and medium voltage systems such as
  • Variable Frequency Drives (VFD);
  • Equipment motors;
  • Emergency generators;
  • Uninterrupted Power Supply (UPS);
  • Panel boards, branch panels, motor control centers; and
  • Related facilities equipment.
• Conduct preventive maintenance to ensure equipment reliability.
• Solve complex electrical challenges in state-of-the-art facilities.
• Ensure safety, health, and environmental compliance in all work activities
• As an essential function of the position and as a business necessity, this role requires regular travel by motor vehicle to client sites, project locations, and other work-related destinations in connection with the performance of assigned duties and responsibilities. Accordingly, a valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record are required for this position.

Here's what you'll need

The base salary range for this position is $50,000.00 to $64,400.00; though will be paid hourly based on hours worked. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
