Job summary

Trident Seafoods is seeking an Electrician Assistant III to support maintenance electricians at our Alaska shoreplant. You will learn, assist, and perform duties under supervision, wiring, troubleshooting, and component replacement as part of a team.

This role requires safety training, ability to read English, and willingness to work in a high‑volume, noisy seafood processing environment with overtime. Rotation includes 3 months at the Alaska shoreplant and 1 month on furlough; medical insurance

Qualifications

• 2 years of experience as a maintenance electrician (level I or II).
• Ability to read and write basic English, proficient in basic arithmetic.
• Knowledge of and ability to use standard industry hand and power tools.
• OSHA 10 training.
• Arc Flash and Contact release training.
• Fall protection training.

Responsibilities

• Connects power supply wires to machines and equipment and connects cables and wires between machines and equipment.
• Diagnoses malfunctioning apparatus such as transformers, motors, and lighting fixtures and replaces damaged or broken wires and cables.
• Tests malfunctioning machinery and discusses malfunction with other maintenance workers, such as Maintenance Machine Repairer and Maintenance Tool Maker, to diagnose malfunction.
• Replaces faulty electrical components of machine such as relays, switches, and motors, and positions sensing devices.
• Diagnoses and repairs or replaces faulty electronic components, such as printed circuit boards.
• Replaces electric motor bearings and rewires motors.
• Diagnoses and replaces faulty mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components of machines and equipment.
• Inspects electrical systems.
• Understands and follows safe working procedures.
• Acquires knowledge of Trident’s Environmental and Safety Policies by completing required training programs and performing designated work activities in accordance with training and procedures/work instructions
• Notifies designated personnel of any environmental or safety incidents or risks not previously documented, in accordance with Environmental Awareness and/or safety trainings.
