Job summary

City of Dallas is seeking an Electrician Assistant to support installation, repair, and maintenance of electrical systems in city facilities. The role requires basic electrical knowledge, ability to read schematics, and adherence to safety codes.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required.
One year of experience in electrical installation or maintenance.
Valid driver’s license with good driving record.
Must be able to obtain State of Texas Electrical Apprentice License within three months of hire.
Knowledge of electrical codes and regulations.

Responsibilities

Assist Electricians in installation, testing, and troubleshooting of electrical systems.
Troubleshoot simple electrical apparatus using schematics.
Install and repair control circuits, lighting, motors, and switchgear per codes.
Participate in inspections to identify hazards and ensure compliance.
Document maintenance and repair activities; attend trainings.
Perform other trades work as needed.
