Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an entry-level electrician apprentice to support skilled trades in constructing, maintaining, and repairing facility systems. You will assist with wiring, conduit installation, and equipment repairs under supervision of a licensed electrician.

The role emphasizes safety, adherence to procedures, and hands-on learning. You may travel up to 10% and gain experience on diverse projects across our offices, while earning a wage during the apprenticeship program.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Must complete 2,000 hours of on the job training each year of apprenticeship.
• Travel may be required; frequency depends on workload and project needs.

Responsibilities

• Assisting skilled trades and performing apprentice craft work for construction, maintenance, and repair of facilities systems, buildings and equipment.
• Assisting with installing and repairing wiring, fixtures, and equipment, measure, cut, bend and install conduit, assisting with wire pulls, etc.
• Work is performed under the direct supervision of a licensed electrician.
• Troubleshoots electrical issues using testing equipment.
• Tests electrical equipment for safety and efficiency.
• Reviews and maintains compliance with safety requirements, material handling and organization.
• Maintains a clean and safe work and storage area.
• Performs other duties as required.
