Job summary

Cargill in Schuyler, NE is hiring an Electrical Maintenance Technician to install, troubleshoot, and maintain electrical systems up to 4160V, including VFDs. The role requires reading blueprints, basic computer skills, and physical stamina for demanding tasks. OT, nights, weekends, and holidays are possible.

Qualifications

• Must be eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Ability to read/write English.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Basic computer skills and math proficiency.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in confined spaces or extreme temperatures.
• Experience with electrical maintenance, reading blueprints and schematics.
• Willingness to work overtime, holidays, nights, weekends and different shifts.

Responsibilities

• Install, troubleshoot, and maintain electrical systems up to 480V/4160V including VFDs.
• Perform preventive maintenance and inspections for safe operation.
• Collaborate with operators, engineers, and contractors on installations.
• Maintain logs of repairs, calibrations and performance issues.
• Ensure compliance with National Electric Code and safety standards.

Principal Accountabilities

• Install, troubleshoot, and maintain electrical systems and equipment up to 480V and 4160V, including VFDs
• Perform preventive maintenance and inspections to ensure safe and reliable operation
• Collaborate with operators, engineers, and contractors to resolve system issues and support project installations
• Maintain accurate logs of repairs, calibrations, and performance issues
• Ensure compliance with the National Electric Code and Cargill safety standards

Required Qualifications

• Must be eligible to work in the united states without visa sponsorship
• Must be 18 years or older
• Must be able to read/write English
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Basic computer skills
• Math skills
• Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting 50 lbs, climbing ladders, and working in confined spaces or extreme temperatures
• Experience with electrical maintenance, including reading blueprints and schematics
• Willingness to work overtime, holidays, nights, weekends, and different shifts

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience wiring and programming Allen Bradley PLCs
• Familiarity with electrical test equipment for diagnostics and troubleshooting
• Knowledge of the National Electric Code and industrial electrical standards
• State of Nebraska Apprentice, Journeyman, or higher electrical license (or equivalent)
• Associate degree in electromechanical or electrical systems, or equivalent training
