Job summary

Wighton's Electric, Plumbing, Heating, and Air is seeking an experienced Electrician to work on residential, commercial, and industrial projects across the Central Coast. You will read blueprints, install and repair electrical systems, and ensure all work meets the National Electrical Code with a strong emphasis on safety.

The role requires proven electrical experience, familiarity with low/high voltage systems, and the ability to collaborate with construction teams.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as an Electrician and ability to read blueprints.
• Knowledge of electrical systems and building codes.
• Familiar with power tools and testing equipment.
• Ability to work independently with strong safety focus.
• U.S. work authorization; E-Verify compliance.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for repairs, installation of electrical systems.
• Repair and install lighting and power distribution systems.
• Utilize ammeters and other testing equipment to diagnose electrical issues.
• Perform new construction and renovations.
• Perform electrical safety inspections and practices.
• Ensure work complies with National Electrical Code and is performed professionally.
• Work with on-site teams to coordinate electrical work with other trades.
• Identify hazards through routine inspections of electrical systems.
• Troubleshoot electrical problems using appropriate testing devices.
• Perform general electrical maintenance.

The ideal candidate will have experience in commercial, industrial and residential electrical work and possess a strong understanding of electrical systems, components, safety procedures/protocols and building codes. This role involves working on construction, commercial, industrial and residential sites reading blueprints and ensuring that all electrical installations and/or repairs comply with the National Electrical Code.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for repairs, installation of electrical systems
• Repair and install lighting and power distribution systems
• Utilize ammeters and other testing equipment to diagnose electrical issues
• Perform new construction and renovations
• Perform electrical safety inspections/practices
• Ensure work is done in accordance with the National Electrical Code and in a professional manner
• Perform other duties as may be required by supervisor
• Work with both low voltage and high voltage systems as required
• Collaborate with construction teams on-site to coordinate electrical work with other trades
• Perform routine inspections of electrical systems to identify potential hazards or malfunctions
• Provide guidance on frame carpentry as it relates to electrical installations/repairs when necessary
• Install Stand-by Generators
• Wire new and remodel residential projects
• Identify and troubleshoot electrical problems using appropriate testing devices
• Perform general electrical maintenance

Requirements

• Proven experience as an Electrician
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• Relevant certifications or licenses as required by local regulations are a plus. Experience with both low voltage and high voltage systems is preferred
• Knowledge of electrical systems, schematics and blueprints
• Familiarity with power tools and equipment
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Strong attention to detail and safety pro
• Excellent communication and customer service skills

Compensation & Benefits

• $60K-$150K, plus (hourly (DOE), plus uncapped commissions)
• 40 hour week with some flexibility on start time. Overtime as necessary.
