Job summary

South32 Group Operations Pty. Ltd. is hiring an industrial electrician to support the Hermosa Project site near Patagonia, Arizona.

The role emphasizes safe operations, installation, maintenance and repair of electrical, electronic and instrumentation systems on a rotating schedule. The candidate should have 4+ years in industrial electrical work (or an associate degree with two years’ experience), PLC/instrumentation experience, and strong safety and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum of four years’ experience in industrial electrical repair and maintenance.
• Associate degree or trade school certification and two years’ experience acceptable.
• Experience with PLCs and instrumentation preferred.
• Electrical licensing/certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Removal, repair, installation, troubleshooting and diagnosis of electrical systems for process optimization.
• Interpretation of electrical drawings and SOPs; ensure safety and regulatory compliance.
• Mentor or train other electrical staff; work under minimal supervision for safe production.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As an electrician your primary responsibilities will include maintaining a safe and productive work environment, assisting, installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of all electrical, electronic and instrumentation systems. This role will work a rotating schedule. This role is based at the Hermosa Project site, near Patagonia, Arizona.

Individual Accountabilities:

Highly skilled workers in the electrical craft. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the removal, repair, installation, troubleshooting, & diagnosis of electrical systems. Employee may mentor or train other electrical employees. Employee will work under minimal supervision where the primary objective is safe production.

• Removal, repair, installation, troubleshooting and diagnosis of electrical systems for process optimization.
• Ability to perform installations and renovations compliant with regulatory agency standards.
• Follows Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and work area instructions, participates in safety and environmental activities, always uses plant and equipment correctly.

ABOUT YOU

• Minimum of four (4) years’ experience in industrial electrical repair and maintenance;OR
• Associate degree or Trade School Certification in the related fieldandtwo (2) years’ experience performing maintenance and repair of electrical systems.
• Experience with programmable logic controls (PLC), motor controls circuits, instrumentation installation & calibration. (Preferred)
• Completion of an approved certified program for instrumentation/control system, electronics, & electrical; (Preferred) OR
• Electrical license/MSHA Electrical Certification Electrical license/MSHA Certification. (Preferred)
• Experience working with low and medium voltages.
• Experience with diagnostic electrical test equipment
• Experience with AC and/or DC controls
• Electrical license/MSHA Electrical Certification Electrical license/MSHA Certification.
• Strong communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills, interacting with diverse functional and cultural backgrounds.
• Strong analysis and problem-solving skills.
• Strong planning and organizing skills.
• Ability to interpret electrical drawings.
• Must be able to work 12 hours rotating shifts, including a combination of nights, days, and weekends.
