Brunswick County seeks an Electrician to troubleshoot and repair electrical controls, layout and install new electrical secondary service including panels, breakers, disconnects, and switches, and prepare materials lists with cost estimates.

The role also logs HVAC equipment, troubleshoots and repairs some HVAC systems, and may involve moving furniture or repairing locks, drains, and other small maintenance tasks; a high school diploma and NC electrician license or completion within 24 months

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Technical school diploma supplemented by at least five years of experience in general construction trade(s) and/or building maintenance; or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required skills, knowledge and abilities.

About This Opportunity

An Electrician troubleshoots and repairs electrical controls. This position lays out and installs new electrical secondary service including panels, breakers, disconnects, and switches. An Electrician also provides detailed materials list, gets cost estimates, and orders materials required for projects. This role is responsible for logging of HVAC equipment, troubleshooting, and repairing some HVAC systems as well as performing other duties that may include moving furniture, repairing or replacing door locks, and unclogging of sinks, toilets, and drains by use of hand or power equipment.

Education and Experience

High School Diploma or GED required. Technical school diploma supplemented by at least five years of experience in general construction trade(s) and/or building maintenance; or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required skills, knowledge and abilities.

NC State Electrician's License required, or obtained within 24 months of employment.

Physical Requirements

Tasks involve the regular and sustained performance of moderately physically demanding work, typically involving some combination of climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching and crawling, and which involves the lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of moderately heavy objects and materials (up to 50 pounds) and occasionally heavy items (up to 100 pounds).
