Industrial Electrician

JOB SUMMARY:

This position plays an important role in maintaining and repairing our equipment to ensure safe operation. This includes installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems and components. Ability to run & bend conduit. The Industrial Electrician is a knowledgeable, hardworking, and skilled individual. Must have 3 years of experience.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Responsible for using safety devices and protective equipment and for using safe work practices and methods in the operation of all tools and equipment necessary to complete tasks.
2. Maintain, install, troubleshoot, and repair electrical/electromechanical component systems for concrete masonry plant equipment for safe and efficient operations.
3. Have the ability to read blueprints and schematics.
4. Safely operate motor vehicles and other mobile equipment including man lift, forklift, and others as necessary in plant repair/maintenance.
5. Plan work effectively and keep accurate records of work performed and materials used.
6. Responsible for correcting and/or reporting any hazardous conditions to employees, contractors, etc.
7. Willing to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
8. Assess issues during breakdowns, communicate with equipment operators, and apply troubleshooting and diagnostic skills to repair equipment efficiently to reduce downtime.
9. Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

• 3-5 years of experience as an industrial electrician.
• Thorough knowledge of electricity principles and electrical/electromechanical maintenance methods.
• Knowledge of safety rules, especially related to electrical work and standard LOTO procedures.
• Skill in using hand tools, testing equipment, and safely installing new and replacement parts.
• Ability to read wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical manuals and apply that knowledge safely.
• Strong electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Basic PLC experience.
• Ability to respond to emergency calls outside normal working hours.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Work is performed outdoors and indoors, enduring heat, cold, rain, dust, wind, and other elements. Capable of operating various heavy equipment and machinery.

PHYSICAL CAPABILITIES:

• Work at heights on aerial lifts, stepladders, and extension ladders.
• Work in confined spaces.
• Physical demands include walking, sitting, bending, stooping, and lifting up to 90 pounds.
