Job summary

West Fraser Inc. is seeking an experienced Industrial Electrician to join our team in Texas. The role requires strong PLC skills, electrical system troubleshooting, and the ability to read complex drawings. Travel is required for training and development, with 10-15% travel time.

You will work on Allen Bradley networks, process control systems, and power distribution upgrades, ensuring safe and efficient plant operations. A commitment to teamwork and safety is essential for success.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School Diploma or GED.
• Read and understand drawings and printed instructions.
• Self-starter who can work safely under high-pressure situations.
• Test and inspect electrical systems, equipment, or components to identify hazards or defects.
• Troubleshoot, program, and upgrade PLCs.
• Work with vendors to identify parts and report to supervisor.
• Understand E&I drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
• Program AC and DC variable speed drives.
• Update power distribution systems including MCC and switch gears.
• Install electrical equipment.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair electrical equipment in the manufacturing facility.
• Read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics.
• Upgrade PLCs and maintain process network components.
• Coordinate with vendors for parts and support.
• Maintain power distribution, MCCs, and switchgear.

Description

Looking for an experienced Industrial Electrician to join our team, who is a team player. The ideal candidate will have experience with and be proficient with:

• Allen Bradley Communications—Device net & Ethernet
• Scanning and Optimization systems within the Lumber Business (Baxley, USNR)
• Process Network Communication Systems and Components—Ethernet & Fiber Optic

Required skills you will need:

• Must have High School Diploma or GED
• Able to read and understand drawings and printed instructions
• Must be a self-starter who can work safely under high-pressure situations
• Test electrical systems and circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures
• Inspect electrical systems, equipment, or components to identify hazards, defects, or repair
• Troubleshoot, program, and upgrade Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC)
• Work with vendors to identify needed parts and recommend to Supervisor
• Understand and update instrumentation loop diagrams, E & I drawings, blueprints, and schematics
• Program AC & DC variable speed drivers
• Update power distribution system, MCC, and switch gears
• Install electrical equipment
• 3 yrs. Industrial Electrician experience troubleshooting, correcting, and maintaining all electrical equipment within the manufacturing facility.
