Job summary

CBRE is seeking a skilled Electrician to support hospital facilities in Lorain, OH. You will maintain electrical and lighting systems, perform installations, and ensure life-safety systems remain reliable in a unionized environment.

The schedule is Monday–Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with rotating weekend shifts every 4 weeks and a holiday rotation. Benefits include a 401(k) plan and health, dental, and vision coverage.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 3-4 years of job-related experience.
• In lieu of a diploma, a combination of experience and education will be considered.
• Proficient with basic computer tools and documentation using MS Office.

What You’ll Do

• Oversee the general operation, repair, and maintenance of electrical and lighting systems. Perform new installations of equipment.
• Check, repair and/or replace functional components of electrical and lighting systems including valves, motors, controls, switches, gauges, wiring, fans, pumps, compressors, condensers, cores, and pipes.
• Review historical maintenance records to create inspection, testing and preventive maintenance schedules.
• Conduct performance testing and scheduling maintenance.
• Provide efficient, timely, accurate, and courteous service to customers.
• Identify solutions using technical experience to apply appropriate judgment and precedents.
• Apply general knowledge of standard principles and techniques/procedures to accomplish assigned tasks and solve routine problems.
• Have a broad knowledge of own job discipline and some knowledge of several job disciplines within the function.
• Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE values. May convince others to reach an agreement.
• Impact the quality of own work and the work of others on the team.
• Work primarily within standardized procedures and practices to achieve objectives and meet deadlines.
• Explain complex information to others in straightforward situations.

What You’ll Need

• High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 3-4 years of job-related experience. In lieu of a diploma, a combination of experience and education will be considered.
• Valid Driver's License required
• Meet the physical requirements of this role including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and the ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.
• Understanding of existing procedures and standards to solve slightly complex problems.
• Ability to analyze possible solutions using technical experience to apply appropriate judgment and precedents.
• In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Strong organizational skills with an inquisitive mindset.

Collective Bargaining Agreement: The pay range for this position is subject to an applicable Collective Bargaining Agreement. The negotiated rate for the Union Electrician position is $31.00 per hour. Please refer to the Collective Bargaining Agreement regarding pay scale.
