Job summary

Electrical Automation Services is seeking a skilled controls technician for an on-site position in St. Charles, IL. You will install, configure, and troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, and motor drives across packaging and production equipment.

The role requires PLC programming, servo systems experience, and the ability to work with 480V 3-phase power. Overtime, shift options, and safety training are provided.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Demonstrated PLC experience and servo systems required.
• Experience with maintenance systems preferred.
• Packaging equipment maintenance in manufacturing preferred.
• Strong understanding of safety procedures (lockout/tagout, etc.) preferred.
• Experience with encoders, servomotors, and amplifiers preferred.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure and troubleshoot photo eyes, proximity switches, limit switches, PLC I/O modules and wiring.
• Troubleshoot analog and digital controls with 480V, 3-phase power distribution, motors, VFDs, servo drives and soft starts.
• Maintain and troubleshoot encoders and load cells; program PLCs and HMIs; modify ladder logic as needed.
• Troubleshoot integration of graphic HMIs and diagnose communication protocols (Profibus, serial, industrial Ethernet).
• Diagnose equipment issues using electrical schematics; perform preventive maintenance on conveyors and equipment.

Job description

Location: This position is on-site in St. Charles, IL. Please apply only if you live within 37 miles of St. Charles.Ability to work 3rd shift, Overtime (1.5) after 40 hours and double time after 48 hours. 10 paid holidays, PTO upon start, regular and irregular raises based on performance.Duties:Perform installation, configuration and troubleshooting of photo eyes, proximity switches, limit switches, PLC input/output modules, and all associated control wiring.Provide troubleshooting expertise of analog and digital controls with 480V, 3 phase power distribution systems, motors, variable frequency drives, servo drives, and soft starts.Maintain and troubleshoot position feedback devices encoders, and load cells.Programming and troubleshooting of PLC and HMI interfaces.Perform configuration and logic modifications to PLC control systems.
