Job summary

Johnson Controls, Silent-Aire division, is seeking an experienced electrical technician to install switchgear and wire data center equipment. The role is based in Gilbert, AZ and requires reading schematics, following safety standards, and working on complex control systems at a manufacturing site.

The position includes troubleshooting and maintaining electrical circuits, training apprentices, and upholding quality and safety in daily operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED or equivalent.
• Completion of college/vocational or technical training preferred.
• Appropriate credentials and certifications.
• Ability to work independently in a busy environment.
• Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment.
• Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
• Able to work well under pressure.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Able to deal with people tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times.

Responsibilities

• Install switchgear.

Specific Accountabilities

• Installation of switchgear
• Rough and finish wiring and control systems
• Installs system components and wiring in compliance with the applicable standards
• Installs, troubleshoots, and maintains electrical control circuits for motors and control devices for various electrical devices

Working Conditions

• Use of Personal Protection Equipment will be required (e.g. safety glasses, safety boots, ear protection, etc.).
• Regularly works near moving parts.
• Requires good manual dexterity (hand, hand with arm, two hands) and multi-limb coordination.
• Noise levels can fluctuate from quiet to loud.
• May work in tight spaces
