Education and Experience: High School Diploma, GED, or higher, and two (2) years of experience as a journey-level electrician.

Licenses and Certificates:

• Texas Journey Level Electrician's License at the time of application.
• Valid Texas Class "C" Driver's License or equivalent from another state by appointment.
• Some positions may require a Texas Class "B" Commercial Driver's License or equivalent.
• Positions with Streets and Maintenance Department require a Texas Class "B" Commercial Driver's License within one year of appointment.

Special Requirements: Positions requiring a CDL or classified as safety-sensitive are subject to drug and alcohol testing per federal regulations.

Under general supervision, perform skilled electrical services including repair, maintenance, testing, and installation of equipment and systems.

Responsibilities include repairing, troubleshooting, testing, inspecting electrical equipment, and operating specialized vehicles or equipment. Maintain records and oversee parts procurement and inventory.

Install new or enhanced electrical services and systems, including researching costs, calculating circuit requirements, gathering materials, wiring, testing, and coordinating with other trades and departments.

May direct work of others, including laborers or helpers, and participate in personnel duties such as training, work review, and delegation.
