The City of El Paso seeks an Electrician to perform skilled services related to the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems and equipment. Candidates should possess a Texas Journey Level Electrician's License and have two years of relevant experience. The position involves troubleshooting and inspecting electrical equipment, as well as operating specialized vehicles.
MOS Code: 12R (Army), 1141 (Marine Corps), 5699 (Navy), EM (Coast Guard)
Education and Experience: High School Diploma, GED, or higher, and two (2) years of experience as a journey-level electrician.
Licenses and Certificates:
Special Requirements: Positions requiring a CDL or classified as safety-sensitive are subject to drug and alcohol testing per federal regulations.
Under general supervision, perform skilled electrical services including repair, maintenance, testing, and installation of equipment and systems.
Responsibilities include repairing, troubleshooting, testing, inspecting electrical equipment, and operating specialized vehicles or equipment. Maintain records and oversee parts procurement and inventory.
Install new or enhanced electrical services and systems, including researching costs, calculating circuit requirements, gathering materials, wiring, testing, and coordinating with other trades and departments.
May direct work of others, including laborers or helpers, and participate in personnel duties such as training, work review, and delegation.
