NTE | NTE35W TEXpress Lanes in Dallas, TX seeks an on-site Maintenance Electrician to perform servicing, repair and installation of transportation electrical systems along the I-820/183 corridor. You will troubleshoot electronics, install equipment, and support preventive maintenance to keep highway operations safe and efficient.

Ideal candidates have 2–4+ years in industrial electrical work, possess a Texas Class A/B license, and can safely use voltmeters, megohm testers, and related tools.

Qualifications

• 2 to 4+ years of Industrial Electrical background.
• Texas Class A or B Current License a plus.
• Must know volt meters, ohm meters, megger usage.
• Experience with voltages up to 480 volts.
• Knowledge of safely testing and troubleshooting energized equipment.
• Knowledge of materials in the Industrial Electrical Trade.

Responsibilities

• Install streetlights, traffic signals, ITS components.
• Install loop detectors and electrical/data conductors.
• Plan/schedule installation of poles and foundations.
• Respond to corrective maintenance requests and document work.
• Perform preventive maintenance and field tests.
• Work with IT on electrical issues and after-hours calls.
• Operate heavy equipment and vehicles as needed.
• Inspect equipment and perform minor repairs and welding.
• Assist in snow/ice control and traffic coordination.

Who is NTE, NTE 35W, and LBJ?

North Tarrant Express (NTE) was the first design-build-finance-operate-maintain managed lanes project in Texas and consisted of the complete reconstruction of 13.3 miles of the existing I-820/SH-183 corridor between Dallas and Fort Worth. Since opening in October 2014, nine months ahead of the contracted completion date, the general highway lanes are experiencing a 70% decrease in congestion time and a 15% increase in average speed. This Cintra-led project has doubled capacity and significantly improved mobility along this heavily congested corridor that traverses the heart of six cities through Northeast Tarrant County.

North Tarrant Express 35W (NTE 35W) project spans 16.8 miles from I-30 in downtown Fort Worth to Eagle Parkway at the north end of Alliance Airport. The project is operated and maintained by the Cintra-led consortium in North Texas. This project has improved mobility by adding additional road capacity through a combination of general highway lanes and continuous frontage roads, along with tolled express lanes that use variable pricing to keep traffic moving.

LBJ Express (LBJ) is currently the largest P3 operation in Texas and one of the largest ever undertaken in the U.S. It is a regionally-significant transportation improvement project in North Texas that is relieving severe congestion in the dense urban area of north Dallas. In 2009, the Cintra-led consortium was selected to complete the design, construction, finance, operation, and maintenance of the project along I-635 and I-35E. Since opening in September 2015, the general highway lanes are realizing a 60% decrease in congestion time and a 10% increase in average speed.

Job Description:

Performs on-site or in-house servicing, repair and/or installation of equipment. This job may include any aspect of field support including troubleshooting and repair of electronic equipment, systems, and wiring; installation of equipment; upgrades, modifications, programming; preventive maintenance; documentation. The individual in this position will also be responsible for assisting the Maintenance Crew in all facets of the maintenance operation and will ensure that the highway operates safely.

Position Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Installation of electrical components of transportation systems, including the following:

• Streetlights, Traffic signals, Intelligent transportation systems (ITS).
• Install inductive loop detectors.
• Install electrical and data conductor.
• Install conduit and pull boxes.
• Plan/Schedule Installation of poles and foundations.
• Responds to corrective maintenance requests within a reasonable time frame.
• Completes reports, logs and performs shift-to-shift communications in accordance with established policies, procedures and local practices.
• Work with IT team on advanced and intermittent electrical issues.
• Restores equipment to operational status as quickly as possible.
• Preform preventative maintenance on all electrical equipment.
• Field test of units or components.
• Respond to afterhours calls
• Operates assigned automotive equipment and construction equipment such as Various heavy equipment, bucket trucks and snow and ice operations.
• No issues working at heights in various locations
• Inspects equipment for proper operating condition, makes minor repairs or adjustments, lubricates and assists in making repairs as required, includes minor welding repairs.
• Performs miscellaneous skilled maintenance on the North Tarrant Express as required.
• Performs miscellaneous duties, such as snow and ice control, coordination of general traffic control, painting, relamping, and is subject to call for emergency maintenance service on a twenty-four (24) hours basis.
• Other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Manager

Education & Experience:
