Job summary
American Homestays in Baltimore, MD seeks a skilled Electrician to support residential and commercial electrical projects part-time. The role requires a licensed professional who can work independently, troubleshoot effectively, and complete tasks safely and efficiently in occupied properties.
The position offers up to 20 hours per week with on-site work, a flexible schedule, and compensation ranging from $15 to $35 per hour, plus benefits including PTO, health coverage, and retirement plan
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of experience in residential and/or commercial electrical work.
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
- Familiarity with local and national electrical codes.
- Own tools and reliable transportation.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Must carry or be willing to obtain general liability insurance (if 1099).
- Experience in property management or multifamily housing maintenance.
- Ability to estimate project costs and materials.
- Comfortable working in occupied units or tenant environments.
Responsibilities
- Perform electrical installations, upgrades, and repairs for residential and commercial properties.
- Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues, including short circuits, faulty wiring, or malfunctioning fixtures.
- Install and maintain lighting, outlets, switches, panels, circuit breakers, and electrical systems.
- Conduct inspections and ensure work complies with local, state, and NEC electrical codes.
- Respond to service calls, emergency repairs, and general maintenance requests as scheduled.
- Collaborate with property management and maintenance teams as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and time on task.

Operations Manager
We are seeking a reliable, experienced Electrician to support a wide range of residential and commercial electrical projects, repairs, and maintenance needs across properties in the Baltimore area. The ideal candidate is a licensed professional who can work independently, troubleshoot effectively, and complete projects safely and efficiently.
This is a part-time position with flexible scheduling, ideal for an electrician seeking supplemental work or project-based engagements. Work may include routine maintenance, installations, inspections, emergency repairs, and renovation support.

- Assist supervisor with work related requests.
- Responsible for following regulations of COMAR, CARF, any other regulatory body, and company policies/ procedures related to service delivery and documentation and co‑facilitating orientation of all new hires to these as well.
- Support the maintenance of a safe environment by participating in training and drills as requested.
- Maintain confidentiality of records relating to client’s treatment.
- Participate in external and internal audits/surveys (CARF/CSA/OHCQ) as directed by the supervisor.
- Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement plans by completing periodic audits or other activities to ensure regulatory compliance and/or improve service delivery.
- Regularly walk, stand or stoop; occasionally lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects weighing up to 100 pounds; and regularly drive a motor vehicle.
- Work is performed indoors and outdoors, in various weather conditions.
- May be required to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Exposure to potentially hazardous materials, heights, and tight spaces.
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required in certain situations.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in residential and/or commercial electrical work
