Job summary

CBRE, Government & Defense Services is seeking an Electrician to perform installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems for facilities operations in Augusta, GA.

The role requires Journeyman or Master Electrician license, ability to read blueprints and wiring diagrams, and experience with traffic signal systems; OSHA 10 is preferred. Applicants must pass background checks and be able to lift 50 lbs and work outdoors in traffic environments.

Qualifications

• Journeyman or Master Electrician License required.

• Experience in indoor/outdoor building environments
• Able to read verbal or written directions from lead or supervisor
• Traffic signal/traffic-control electrical experience preferred
• Ability to troubleshoot, maintain, and repair traffic signal electrical systems
• Experience installing and troubleshooting traffic signals, controllers, detection systems, conduit, and underground electrical systems
• Interpret electrical schematics, traffic signal plans, and wiring diagrams
• Safely perform electrical work in active roadway and traffic environments
• Able to lift 50 lbs., squat, bend, stoop, kneel, climb ladders, stand long periods, and extend arms
• Occasional exposure to heat, cold, noise, dust, dirt, chemicals; minor safety hazards
• Able to pass local background check and obtain/maintain security clearance after hire

Responsibilities

• Replace electrical receptacles, wires, switches, fixtures, and motors.
• Install and repair electrical equipment such as generators, transformers, ATS equipment, switchboards, controllers, circuit breakers, disconnects, motors, conduit systems, VFDs, UPS, MCCs.
• Work from blueprints, drawings, layouts, or specifications.
• Locate and diagnose trouble in electrical systems or equipment.
• Perform load calculations for wiring or electrical equipment.
• Use electrician hand tools and test/measurement instruments.
• Perform preventive maintenance on distribution systems and report corrective actions.
• Communicate with customers regarding work Request status and coordination.
• Respond to emergency calls nights and weekends as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

General Summary

Performs a variety of electrical trade functions such as the installation, maintenance, or repair of equipment for the generation, distribution, or utilization of electric energy.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Replace electrical receptacles, wires, switches, fixtures, and motors.
• Installation and repair of a variety of electrical equipment, such as generators, transformers, ATS equipment, switchboards, controllers, circuit breakers, disconnects, motors, heating units, conduit systems, variable frequency drives, UPS, MCC's, Etc.
• Working from blueprints, drawings, layouts, or other specifications.
• Locating and diagnosing trouble in the electrical system or equipment.
• Working standard computations relating to load requirements of wiring or electrical equipment.
• Use a variety of electrician hand tools and test & measurement instruments.
• Perform maintenance and service as needed to support ongoing facility operations for the Facilities Department.
• Perform monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, and annual preventive maintenance on assigned distribution systems and report corrective actions required.
• Communicates with customers regarding work request status and coordination.
• Ability to respond to emergency calls as needed, to include nights and weekends.
• Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Experience and Skill Requirements

• Journeyman or Master Electrician License required.
• OSHA 10 Preferred
• GED or High School Diploma
• Experience working in an outdoor or indoor building environment.
• Able to understand verbal or written directions from lead, supervisor or other craftsmen.
• Traffic signal/traffic-control electrical experience preferred.
• Ability to perform troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of traffic signal electrical systems.
• Experience installing and troubleshooting traffic signals, controllers, detection systems, conduit, and underground electrical systems.
• Ability to interpret electrical schematics, traffic signal plans, and wiring diagrams
• Ability to safely perform electrical work in active roadway and traffic environments.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs., squat, bend, stoop, and kneel for short periods, climb a ladder, stand for long periods of time, constant arm extensions.
• Occasional exposure to elements such as heat, cold, noise, dust, dirt, chemicals, but none to the point of being disagreeable. May involve minor safety hazards where the likely result would be cuts, bruises, etc.
• Must be able to pass a local background check and have the ability to obtain and maintain security clearance after hire.
