Job summary

Thompson Pipe Group is seeking an Electrician to install and maintain electrical wiring, fixtures, and systems across our facilities. The role requires reading electrical schematics, installing conduit, and ensuring NEMA standard compliance. Strong troubleshooting for PLC and automated systems is essential.

The position is full-time, Monday through Friday, with overtime as needed. Benefits include medical, vision, dental, Life, 401K, training, and a $1,000 referral bonus program.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of a formal apprenticeship and valid electrician’s license recommended but not required.
• Exposure to fumes or airborne particles and loud work environment are typical in this role.

Responsibilities

• Install and maintain electrical wiring, fixtures, and systems in buildings to meet standards.
• Install conduit and connect wiring to electrical hardware and power lines.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical components.
• Test electrical systems for proper operation and compliance with codes.
• Inspect and replace conduit, wiring, circuit breakers as needed.
• Install and program VFDs; diagnose PLC controls.

Overview

The Electrician will install and maintain the electrical wiring, fixtures, and systems in buildings.

Essential Functions

• Installs and repairs electrical wiring, systems, and fixtures in buildingsto meet NEMA standards.
• Installs conduit to facility electrical wires and cables.
• Trouble shoot and repair mechanical and electrical components
• EnsuresconduitcomplieswithNEMAelectrical codes.
• Installs circuit breakers and other electrical hardware and connects wiring to them.
• Connects electrical systems to powerlines to provide electricity to the building.
• Tests electrical systems to ensure proper installation and operation.
• Inspects electrical systems to determine whether repairs are needed.
• Replaces conduit and wiring as needed.
• Replaces circuit breakers as needed.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

• Knowledge of how to troubleshoot PLC.
• Install and program VFD’s

Requirements

• 7 years of quality Industrial Electrical experience - Required.
• Ability to readelectrical schematics.
• Bilingual preferred but not required.
• Extensive knowledge of electrical systems and wiring.
• Knowledge with variable drives
• Knowledge with automated machines and an expert understanding of all related devices. (AC/DC Drives,proximity sensors, photo eye’s, encoders, PLC, VFDand transducers).
• Ability tounderstand andtroubleshoot analogcontrols
• Ability to use hand tools and power tools.
• Proficient in the use of test meters and other diagnostic equipment.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Required Education and experience

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of a formal apprenticeship and valid electrician’s licenserecommended but not required.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.

Physical Demands

• Must be able to see color to discern color-coded wiring.
• Must be physically capable of pulling wires and cables through conduits.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; talk or hear.Prolonged periods standing, kneeling, bending, and climbing ladders or scaffolding.
• The employee must occasionally lift or move products and supplies, up to75pounds.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

• This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 6 a.m. to4:30 p.m. OT will be required as needed. This position regularly requires weekend work.
