Jefferson County is seeking an Electrician to install, maintain, troubleshoot and repair electrical systems across county properties. You will handle switch gear, generators, lighting, and building automation while ensuring NEC and NFPA compliance.
On-call duties and after-hours work may be required. Preferred candidates have a Journeyman Electrician license (Colorado) and may need a Class B CDL or forklift certification.
The Electrician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing and replacing a variety of electrical systems and components in County owned properties.

Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, including new construction and remodel of County buildings. Install, maintain and repair switch gear, generators, transformers, lighting systems, ups, motors and controls, VFD's, A/C units, fuel pumps and building automation systems. Ensure work is done in compliance with local electrical and safety codes and within budget. Maintain fire protection system, including control panels, smoke detectors, sprinklers, won doors, audio/visual, and door holders. Follow National Electrical Code and National Fire Protection Association codes. Provide emergency, on call response to situations involving floods, odors, lighting, HVAC, fire protection and security. Assess the emergency and respond accordingly. Call appropriate personnel if necessary. Maintain building automation systems, including programming and testing for the needs of County employees and public safety. Remove snow in a timely manner often after hours, weekends and holidays. Maintain snow removal equipment. Ensure public safety. On call rotation required. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Preferred- Relevant Specialized Training Preferred - Five years of experience
May be required to obtain a Class "B" Commercial Driver’s License during employment.
May be required to possess a fork lift certification.
Salary ranges from $ 33.44 to $50.16 per hour
