Job summary

The City of Safety Harbor is seeking a skilled welder to perform electrical welding, fabrication, and repair of automotive and mechanical equipment. You will read sketches or blueprints, work with ferrous and non-ferrous metals, and handle material orders with proper safety practices.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED, two years welding experience, and a valid CDL Class B with air brake endorsement.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or GED with two years welding experience.
• Valid CDL Class B with air brake endorsement.
• Ability to read sketches and blueprints.

Responsibilities

• Perform electrical welding.
• Fabrication, modification, and repair of automotive, mechanical, and related equipment.
• Heats, brazes, cuts, resurfaces, and fits metals per work orders, sketches, or blueprints.
• Overtime, holiday work, and call-outs may be required.
• Orders supplies and materials; keeps records of material usage.
• Work may include fabrication and welding for other Divisions/Departments within the City.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
