Job summary

Zenith Systems, LLC in Ohio seeks an Electrical Virtual Designer to join our VDC/BIM team. You will apply building codes and engineering standards within a BIM workflow, developing 3D construction drawings and collaborating with customers and tradespeople.

The ideal candidate has strong Revit and AutoCAD MEP experience, excellent communication, and a proactive work ethic to support projects from concept through installation across our electrical design practice.

Due to our continued growth and success, we are excited to expand our team! We are currently seeking an Electrical Virtual Designer to join our VDC/BIM team. This position will include applying building codes and engineering standards in a VDC/BIM coordination workflow. Developing 3-Dimensions construction drawings and interacting with our team’s customers and tradespeople allow applicants to be engaged and grow.

The ideal candidate should possess the drive to continuously learn, researching industry and BIM related emerging technologies, be an effective and clear communicator, and maintain an exceptional work ethic that upholds our professional values.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Our VDC/BIM Team (Virtual Design and Construction / Building Information Modeling) is involved with creating, managing, and deploying 3D architectural models and content.
• Understand and Implement Project Specifications.
• Implement quality control process for completeness.
• Learn and Utilize BIM drafting software:
  • Revit
  • Navisworks
  • AutoCAD 2D and AutoCAD MEP 3D
• Conveying project requirements to team members and other trades during in-person and virtual meetings.
• Coordinating and resolving BIM clashes with other trade models.
• Creating 2D plans and schedules for construction and fabrication.
• Preparing construction submittals and details as needed for each project.
• Attending meetings to address and creatively solve design and installation issues.

Required Qualifications:

• In-depth working and practical knowledge of current Revit and AutoCAD MEP.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to use time productively, maximize efficiency, and meet challenging work goals.
• Ability to take on additional responsibilities as needed as well as determine and manage priorities.
• Basic PC experience in Windows environments (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.) along with web- enabled applications and database software.
• Possess the ability to work well as part of a team and independently.

Education and Experience:

• College degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
• 5+ years of production experience in electrical design and drafting.
