Job summary

Hive Autonomy is seeking a Vehicle Integration Technician in Austin, TX or London to turn retrofit kits into autonomous machines on industrial vehicles. You will install a full hardware stack (electrical, mechanical, CAN) and adapt platform hardware to fit each model, ensuring robust integration and performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• 3–8 years of vehicle integration or hardware retrofit experience.
• Experience designing hardware components for heavy machinery.
• Experience with CAN wiring and vehicle electrical systems.
• Hands-on wiring harness assembly and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Adapt Hive's standard platform hardware to fit each machine model.
• Build and install wiring harnesses, connectors, mounting brackets, sensors, and actuators on vehicles.
• Go to customer sites to scope retrofit needs and perform installation, commissioning, debugging, and acceptance testing.
• Troubleshoot integration problems across electrical, mechanical, and software layers; raise clear change requests to platform engineering teams.
• Record build issues and lessons learned to improve reuse of Vehicle Adapter Kits; ECU or embedded programming experience is a plus.
