Job summary

St. Tammany Parish Government is seeking an Utility Maintenance Specialist 2 - Electrical Maintenance to support wastewater treatment plants, sewer lines, lift stations, and water distribution systems.

The role includes installing electrical panels, performing inspections, and operating heavy equipment on outdoor sites. The candidate should have a high school diploma or GED (preferred) with utility maintenance experience and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred; experience in utility maintenance.
• Must have valid Driver’s License.
• Drug screen, physical and background check required before employment.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the maintenance, construction, repair, and installation of wastewater treatment plants, sewer collection lines, lift stations, water distribution systems, pull and maintain well pumps, and all other sewer and water infrastructure
• Check / monitor lift stations
• Installation of Electrical Control Panels
• Inspection of Infrastructure
• Pull, unclog and change out lift station pumps
• Maintenance and replacement of Water Well Pumps, Blowers, and Electric Motors
• Troubleshooting and repairs
• Assist in the installation, modification, calibration, testing, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair on electrical and electronic equipment and related devices utilized in the water and wastewater field
• Operate equipment including but not limited to backhoe, electrical testing equipment, trucks and tractors
• Check to ensure that equipment is properly serviced and in good working order
• Shall be available to work additional hours as required in emergency situations
• This position is required to be on-call during nights and weekends
• Regular, consistent attendance is required
• Any other duties as assigned
