Job summary

MJCC - CTT in Montgomery, AL is seeking an Electrical Trades Instructor to lead classroom and hands-on training for students pursuing electrical trades. The role focuses on building technical knowledge, safety practices, and employability skills to prepare for industry credentials and employment opportunities.

You will develop engaging lesson plans, supervise labs, and evaluate student progress while collaborating with Career Technical Training staff to support successful job placement.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; must have applicable electrical license or credential.
• Experience in electrical trades; teaching experience preferred.
• Ability to communicate clearly and reinforce safety in a classroom/lab.

Responsibilities

• Provide classroom and hands-on instruction in electrical theory, wiring methods, circuits, and safety.
• Demonstrate proper use of electrical tools, testing equipment, and PPE.
• Develop lesson plans and instructional materials aligned to industry standards.
• Prepare students for industry credentials and employment opportunities.
• Monitor student progress, attendance, and completion of training requirements.
• Maintain a safe, organized classroom and lab environment.
• Coach students on workplace expectations, professionalism, and employability skills.
• Collaborate with staff to support student development and job placement.
